    Notre-Dame des Trays chapel

This modest chapel was erected in 1850 by Felix Seurrat de la Boulaye, mayor of La Ferté-Saint-Aubin from 1848 to 1888, in order to house a 17th century coloured wooden statue of the virgin (historic monument since 1980) that had been found in the attic of the church of St Michel, were it had been hidden during the french revolution.
In the immediate vicinity of the oratory, there is a source that was once venerated for its healing properties.
A pilgrimage is organised by the parish of La Ferté-Saint-Aubin on the third sunday in august.
    Many ex-votos surround the statue.

In practice, the chapel is located in a wooded environment about 5km southwest of the station (route des Trays) - see access map above.
